Hey you guys! Thanks for all your responses to last weeks LTP, there were some great ones in there.
I would have to use the money to buy a ray gun or something and zap all the aliens into little piles of dust....failing that I would just get VERY VERY drunk (a bottle of wine and some haribos ought to put me out for long enough.)
Mmmmm well, I have given some thought to this weeks LTP, and as my crappy day job has been dominating my life this week (don't ask) I got to thinking...
If I was on my own in the office at night, no video cameras no security etc what would I do? What mischief could I make (cackle whilst rubbing hands together)?
I don't want to be accused of discriminating against those of you who don't work in offices so please apply the above situation to wherever you work, although if you work from home you might have to factor in a significant other being out of the house for this to work!
One of my favourite films of all time is the glorious 'Heathers' - the bright colours, those shoulder pads, Christain Slater and LUNCH TIME POLL!
In homage and just for fun I have decided to conduct my own series of Lunch Time Polls (more tea time by the time I post them!) and hope that you will all join in the fun by posting your most imaginative answers back. I feel I really ought to honour the film and to that end the first LTP will be the question posed by Heather in the film...
You win five million dollars from the publishers sweepstakes and the same day you get the money aliens land on the planet and say their going to blow up the world in two days...what do you do?
Have fun!
We're very excited to announce that we won the weekly vote on XFM!!!
This is entirely down to your love and support and we can't thank you
enough.
We are now through to the monthly competiton where we are judged by a
panel of industry bods...which is just what we need, because even if we
don't win at least some of the right kind of people have listened to us.
Thanks again!
Not words you expect to hear everyday!
Four of us went to the Wonky Pop tour in Stoke the other night - primarily to see Alphabeat again. A couple of us had seen them in the very same venue a couple of months ago, just before Fascination was a massive hit. At that point there was about four people and us in the room as I guess nobody knew who they were. They absolutely blew us away - the songs, the energy...we came away reeling, our heads full of the hows and whys of making our live show just as dramatic. So when the opportunity came to see them again we jumped at it thinking it would be awesome for the whole band to see and be inspired. What a difference a top ten hit makes!! The place was rammed from wall to wall with adoring fans shouting the words back at the stage. Unfortunately the change in the band wasn't all for the better. The band looked tired (which is to be expected I suppose) but SG was absolutely wasted, the energy we so admired from him the first time around clearly now supplemented by other means. They were still amazing though and a good night was had by all, that is until the very last song when I got hit in the face by a crowd surfer! The next day saw me in A & E with concussion, whip lash and a fractured cheek bone...how very rock and roll. I'm just grateful not to have a broken nose (how vain!) and at least the feeling is coming back to my face now so a) I'm not drooling all the time and b) I should be alright for the gig on Monday night!

Please, please help us - I know bands are always asking for people to vote for this, that and the other but we really could use you all to get behind us right now!
XFM Manchester has chosen four bands to play one night this week and the one with the most votes will go on to the next round with a chance to be listened to and discussed by some industry bods.
We're all dead excited to have been chosen and it would mean an awful lot to have people support us. All you have to do is follow this link and click on the voting button.

We're being played on Thursday night which is great but unfortunately means we're the late comers and won't have the same publicity as the other bands :( The good thing is though you can vote for us now - so please do, it will be much appreciated.
Welcome to Dan our new drummer and Chris our new guitarist! It’s very exciting to be playing with a full line up and everyone has been working really hard to make sure we’re ready for our first outing all together. Dan and Chris have already had a huge impact on the sound and dynamics of Codette and we can’t wait to showcase it to everyone, which looks like it will be Live Licks on the 21st April – hope to see you there!

....it was amazing!!! Last week I went for a check up with a specialist. I knew there would be some kind of hideous camera device but I still wasn't prepared! They sprayed my throat to numb it, pulled out my tongue and held it (!) then put a rod down my throat with a camera on the end. Apparently I have very good gag reflexes. It didn't stop there either - I had to have one up my nose as well...all I can say is that it brought a tear to my eye! They made me hum and sing whilst all this was going on too. Anyway the upshot was, I got to see a part of myself I've never seen before - good news is they're healthy, but there is something quite special about seeing a part of yourself like that. Apart from the obvious relief that everything is ok, it's very weird but utterly fascinating to watch your vocal chords as they work...
We are playing at a private party where the
theme is Marie Antoinette. In usual Codette dissension we have decided to go as revolutionaries so that we can cause our usual havoc. We need some ideas for what to call the band
for the night…so far ‘Madame Guillotine and the Blades’ and ‘The Cut Throats’
have been suggested. Has anyone out there got any other ideas? Please let us
know and we will re-name Codette for one night only with the best idea.
Elly
P.S Does anyone know where we can get revolutionary costumes
from?
